Hi Maywood Families and welcome to a brand new year! As the new PTA Treasurer, I wanted to give a shout out to all the staff and volunteers who always do amazing work and are stepping up to the challenges that this new school year brings. Kudos to all of you!
In addition to volunteering for PTA activities through over a dozen committees and special events planned for this year, there are 4 different ways you can contribute:
- Donations & Grants
- Amazon Smile
- Fundraising Events
First and foremost, if you haven’t already, please join the PTA – The Membership Drive is still ongoing. There is information in this newsletter about how to join and why it’s important. One goal this year is for the PTA to sponsor memberships for the entire school staff.
Sign up on the PTA website and pay for your membership by scanning the QR code below on your phone or going to www.paypal.me/maywoodhillspta. If you have questions, email Darin at email@example.com.
New this year is the QR code (It help the PTA save fees!)
Donations & Grants
The PTA is part of a corporate matching program that makes it easy to multiply the impact of your donations and volunteer hours. There are hundreds of firms taking part, including dozens of local firms like Microsoft and Starbucks, that match employee contributions or make a donation based on volunteer hours. Check with your employer to see if they are using Benevity (American Online Giving Foundation) or encourage them to do so. For more details or help to get set up, email Salim at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you shop at Amazon, you can choose the PTA as your sponsored charity. Go to smile.amazon.com and register “ Maywood Hills Elementary PTSA” and 0.5% of your eligible purchases will be donated to the PTA. There is no cost to you to participate. Learn more here.
Fundraisers are the primary way the PTA supports activities throughout the year. Fundraisers in the past have included the Auction and Jog-A-Thon. Stay tuned for this year’s fundraising events and how to participate!
