The Scholastic Book Fair is coming!
One of our favorite events, Scholastic Book Fair, is coming to Maywood Hills from September 20-24. We are so excited that we can hold this school event! No one is obligated to buy books. If you choose to shop, proceeds from the fair support the school and classroom libraries. Find out more about our fair HERE: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/maywoodhills
Since we weren’t able to have a back to school BBQ the PTA will be at the Book Fair with more information about ways to get involved this year!
It will be a STUDENT ONLY fair during the week. Students will shop with their classmates during their library time. The fair will be open to a VERY limited number of students before school in the morning. There will not be after school sales.
On Friday, the book fair will move outside for the evening. Families can attend during an assigned time so we all can stay socially distanced and safe.
We do need (and much appreciate) volunteers to help us with book sales. Only one volunteer will be in the library at a time and shifts will be for 2 hours, serving 2 classes. Volunteers will be behind an acrylic barrier and 3 feet away from students when they are selling books. If students are not present, volunteers will help tidy and restock the fair.
On Friday evening, we will have 1-hour long volunteer shifts between 4:30 and 7:30. Volunteers will help with sales and monitor distance between family groups.
Volunteers must wear masks and be fully vaccinated to participate. You must also have an NSD volunteer form and background check on file: https://www.nsd.org/get-involved/volunteer/become-a-volunteer
