Before/After School Programs
Our Before/After School programs kick off in October! Watch your email and our socialsl for registration information. Some programs have online registration available.
Some Examples of Current and Past Programs
Introduce your child to yoga in a simple and fun class that uses themes, yoga poses and games to develop strong minds and bodies. Themes such as self-awareness, gratitude, respect, and seasonal topics introduced through movement and literature. These classes help kids build self-esteem, refine cooperation and listening skills, and teach self-calming and relaxation techniques. A parent volunteer is needed for this afterschool activity. If you are interested in volunteering for discounted tuition, please contact Rachel Stagnaro (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Fall Garden Club
Maywood Hills Garden Club is FREE. We work on our Food Forests, harvesting pumpkins and sunflowers and planting bulbs all over campus (with a bit of weeding thrown in, too). K-5 students are welcome at Garden Club; Kindergarten students must have an adult or 5th grade helper with them in order to participate.
Fall STEM Academy
There are various “Pop Up” STEM opportunities throughout the year. In previous years kids have learned about science and technology from real Boeing engineers and other members of the community.
Math Club: Grades 4-5
4th and 5th Graders are invited to join Mr. Pierce for fun Math activities on Mondays after school beginning in October. Watch email and kidmail for details.
We are working to bring AM Spanish classes back to Maywood. Please watch this space and Facebook for future announcements.
Chess Club: Grades 1-5
Chess Club teaches students the basics of one of the most beloved games of all time.
Maywood Hills ASB
Our 3rd-5th grade classes will be choosing ASB (Student Council) representatives in September. ASB meets before school on the second Tuesday of each month, with an optional work day on the first Thursday. Our first meeting is Tuesday, October 10th. Watch for information to come home and talk to your kids about participating in school leadership. ASB Advisors are Sarah Meyer (email@example.com) and Renee Huizenga (firstname.lastname@example.org)
