Hip Hip Hooray, it's FIELD DAY!  Thank you so much for being willing to help with this fantastic event.  We need lots of volunteers to make this day a success for our kids.

We are excited to celebrate our fifth grade students and all they have accomplished at Maywood Hills Elementary school!
The fifth grade party takes place during the school day. Students will take buses to Brightwater Event Center with their teachers. The party will include fun games, activities, music and food!

Tuesday, June 3, 6-7:30pm Pops at the Popcorn Tree will be a treat for all! Bring a picnic and find a spot on the lawn near the popcorn tree while we listen to performances by the 4th and 5th graders!All Maywood Hills Families are invited to attend a concert in the park at Maywood. The concert is free and open to all.
We will be accepting donations to help Build up the Maywood Music Program. All donors can choose from a really fun selection of Lego backpacks, lunchboxes, wallets and more! Thanks to Carry Gear Solutions for this donation!

Come and connect with fellow Maywood families at Stipek park. This is intended for families of students receiving special education to make connections, however everyone is welcome! 

2025 Festival of Cultures will be held Friday April 25th, 6-8pm in the School Gym.

All families and staff are welcome to participate in the festival. Enjoy country displays, artwork, traditional handcrafts, clothing, games, history, trivia, books, food samples, and more!

We are looking for families to host a country table. It can be somewhere your family comes from or a country you really like.Participants will be provided with a table and a standing grid wall for their displays and will have great freedom in how they design their displays. See examples from previous years here.

Do you love art? We are decorating Maywood Hills for the 2025 Festival of Cultures. Come with your family this Sunday, March 30th from 2:00 to 4:00. We are painting posters, banners, and making decorations. All supplies will be provided. Just meet us at the Tiger Tunnel.

This year Maywood Hills PTA is facilitating the Math Challenge Tournament in our school! It is a great opportunity to participate in a country-wide competition, without the pressure of being assessed, since that is not a part of the school curriculum. 

The Tournament is open to grade 2 - 5 students. 1st grade students can participate, however they will be competing at a grade 2 level. 

Tournament Details
Location: Maywood Hills Elementary gym
Date: 03/28/2025
Time: 6 PM (check-in 5:30 - 5:45)

A few things to note:

• Tournament Fee: $25 per student. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. 20% of it will go back to our PTA, to support the math program.

• This tournament is in-person only and not available online. We will need a few proctor volunteers.

• If you need to request changes (i.e. division, name, etc.) after registration, you can submit a Change Request at: https://www.ellipsisacademy.com/mct-change-request.html.

• Once you've registered, you will immediately receive an email confirmation containing additional information. If you didn't see the confirmation email, please check your spam folder.

• Last day to register & submit change requests is March 4, 2025.

• During registration, Level means grade (e.g. grade 3 = level 3). Most students will use Division 2. Division 1 is for students enrolled in accelerated programs, like EAP, or studying math at least 1 grade above their grade level.

• All participants receive a keepsake and a ribbon. Students who end up in the top 10% in their grade level and division will receive medals. There is also a special prize for the best scorers in each category.
